ETH/RTH Toggle
ETH/RTH Toggle
Toggling between ETH and RTH helps you spot price gaps, identify key support and resistance levels, and tailor your strategy to current market conditions.
Extended Trading Hours (ETH) cover nearly 24 hours, including overnight sessions. With fewer active traders, liquidity is lower, and price movements tend to be more volatile and unpredictable.
Regular Trading Hours (RTH) see significantly higher participation, especially from institutional traders, resulting in better liquidity and more stable price action.
To toggle between ETH and RTH views, click the ETH label located in the bottom right corner of your chart.

Order Ticket
Order Ticket
The Order Ticket is the primary interface for submitting and managing trades.
What you can do:
Select order type (Market, Limit, Stop Market)
Choose product and quantity
Manage Brackets: Set stop (Risk) and target (To Make) dollar values
Access Cancel All, Flatten All, and Reverse Position in one click
Important: OCO orders can only be configured via Auto-OCO Brackets, available in settings > Risk Settings.
Position Brackets (Auto Profit/Risk)
Position Brackets (Auto Profit/Risk)
Automatically attach a stop-loss and take-profit to every position. Set at the account level, so different accounts can have different bracket configurations.
How to Set Up:
Click Settings in the left sidebar.
Under Risk Settings > Position Risk / Profit Brackets, enter your desired Risk and Profit totals.
Select the option labeled "Automatically apply Risk / Profit bracket to new Positions."
Click Save Changes.
Adjusting an Active Trade:
Drag and drop the P&L bar on an open position to adjust your stop or target in real time.
Auto-OCO Brackets
Auto-OCO Brackets
Automatically attach a take-profit and stop-loss to each entry order. Each entry gets its own bracket — when one side fills, the other is automatically canceled.
How to Enable:
Go to Settings → Risk Settings.
Select Switch to Auto-OCO Brackets.
Configure your take-profit and stop-loss values.
Click Save Changes.
Important:
If placing orders from the DOM, OCO must also be enabled in the DOM.
You must be flat (no open positions or working orders) to enable or switch bracket types.
Brackets are applied per entry — not across your entire position.
Charting
Charting
TopstepX™ supports up to 8 charts open simultaneously. Each chart loads with /ES by default but can be changed to any available product.
Symbol & Component Linking:
Use the Symbol Link feature to sync charts and other components. Click the link icon in any component header and assign a color. All components with the same color update together when you change a symbol.
Chart Executions:
Visually marks your trade entries and exits directly on the chart. Disabled by default.
To enable: Settings → Charts & Data → toggle "Show Chart Executions" → Save.
Chart Value Display:
Show position values in dollars, ticks, percent, or points. Change under Settings →
Charts & Data → Chart Value Display Type.
Available timeframes: 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month. Note: the 10-minute timeframe is not currently available.
Note: TopstepX™ cannot be connected to external platforms such as TradingView. Custom indicators are not currently supported.
DOM (Depth of Market)
DOM (Depth of Market)
The DOM (also called the ladder) displays price levels, market depth, and volume profile for one-click order entry and management.
DOM Actions:
Left-click in the Bid or Ask column to place a Limit Order.
Right-click in the Bid or Ask column to place a Stop Order.
Drag and drop existing orders to move them to a new price level.
Once filled, your position is highlighted in blue on the ladder with real-time P&L displayed.
Notes:
Full price depth is available only with an active Level II Market Data subscription. For more information see this article: How do I change my Market Data Subscription?
TopstepX currently supports one DOM window at a time — the DOM cannot be moved to a secondary screen.
If OCO is disabled in the DOM, Auto-OCO Brackets will not apply to DOM orders even if enabled in Risk Settings.
Time & Sales
Time & Sales
A live feed of all completed trades for your selected product. Use it to monitor real-time order flow while trading. The Time & Sales component is available by default to the right of your chart in your workspace.

Position Grid & Chart Sync: Click any open position in the Positions Grid to instantly update your focused chart to that instrument — no manual symbol search needed.
Risk Settings
Lockout
Lockout
Manually block all trading on a selected account for a set period. Applies to the selected account only.
Options:
Lock out for a specific session (New York, London, etc.)
Set a custom duration (15 min, 1 hour, all day)
When applied:
All open positions and working orders are automatically closed.
The lockout cannot be canceled or adjusted once set.
All Day Lockout: Locks the account for the full session. If applied after session close, it remains active until 5:00 PM CT the following day.
Topstep Brokerage Support cannot reverse a lockout once applied.
How to Set:
Go to Settings → Risk Settings → Set Lockout.
Choose a session or a custom duration.
Personal Daily Loss Limit (PDLL) and Daily Profit Target (PDPT)
Personal Daily Loss Limit (PDLL) and Daily Profit Target (PDPT)
Optional daily thresholds that trigger an automated account action when your net P&L reaches a defined level. Both are based on real-time net P&L (realized and unrealized).
When a threshold is reached, choose one of the following actions:
Do Nothing — No automated action.
Liquidate — Open positions are closed using market orders when the threshold is hit.
Liquidate & Block — Positions are closed and new trading is blocked for the rest of the day.
PDLL:
The PDLL can be set as a trailing limit that automatically adjusts upward as your account balance increases. You can trail from unrealized gains (updates in real time with open trades) or realized gains (updates only after closing profitable trades).
Important: While the threshold triggers liquidation immediately, the final realized P&L may vary due to market conditions, slippage, and the number of contracts being closed at the time of execution.
How to Set:
Go to Settings → Risk Settings.
Enter your desired limit amounts.
Choose your preferred action.
Click Save.
Symbol Block
Symbol Block
Restrict trading on specific products. Blocked symbols remain restricted until you manually remove them. You can select one or more symbols to block from trading. Once blocked, you will not be able to place trades on those symbols.
⚠️ Before You Block a Symbol
Applying a symbol block while in an open position will immediately cancel any working orders and close any open positions on that symbol. Review your open positions and orders before activating a block.
Important to Know
You must manually remove a symbol to trade it again.
You can combine Symbol Block with other risk settings (e.g., Trade Limits, Daily Risk Lock)
How to Set:
Go to Settings → Risk Settings → Symbol Blocks.
Select a symbol from the dropdown.
Click Add Block, then Save.
To remove: click the X next to a blocked symbol and save.
Trade Clock
Trade Clock
Pause new trade entries for a set period without closing open positions or canceling working orders. Unlike Lockout, you retain full control over active trades while the clock runs.
How to Use:
Open Settings → Risk Settings.
Choose a preset timer or set a custom duration. (Note: You need an active position to use this feature.)
Click Enable Trade Clock.
A countdown timer appears near your P&L at the top of the screen. You can still adjust stops and targets, or use Flatten All & Cancel All to close everything if needed.
| Trade Clock | Lockout |
Closes open positions | No | Yes |
Cancels working orders | No | Yes |
Prevents new entries | Yes | Yes |
Manage existing trades | Yes | No |
